One of the advantages of salt-free water softening systems is the total absence of salt in treating water. You simply cannot overlook this as it is one of the strongest points of this system.

They are simply made for this purpose so if you detest using salt to treat your hard water, you will find it refreshing buying one because you now have a choice. In essence, you are not tied to just one method of treating your water.

One the one hand, most ion exchange softeners generates waste during every regeneration cycle because this waste consists of hard minerals (calcium and magnesium), it may be harmful to the environment and some organizations don’t recommend the use of salt-based water softeners for this reason.

On the other hand, no waste is recorded when water is treated with a salt-free system, which means one less thing to worry about. Because of this, you reduce the stress in cleaning up the waste and in so doing benefit the ecosystem.

Another big advantage these devices have other the salt-based system is the ease of installation. In most cases, you shouldn’t do more than wrap the wire around the pipes and insert it into the electric device. This means you can install it yourself and spend less on handyman job.

While these advantages exist for this device, you shouldn’t expect to see the same level of thoroughness when you go through the traditional method which salt-based systems offers.

Choosing the right oil for your deep fryer is half battle won. Once you know the type of oil you want to use, you will need to fill up the fryer with it, taking care not to over-fill or under-fill it.

If you have a model that have a minimum or maximum fill line, it becomes even easier as you have a ready gauge to guide your measurement.

2. Turn it on and start operating

The biggest advantages to this system are that it is truly tried and tested. It is the oldest and has been in existence for decades, which means you can trust it in fighting against the effect of hard water and getting soft water in your household.

They are available in two options: the digital on demand and the manual version. In most cases, the digital on demand version is more efficient and easier to use but very expensive. If you don’t have the budget, you can easily settle for the manual version.

The problem with this device is that they require you to change the salt and possibly the filter depending on the type of system and how they are managed. If you have a large household, this might become a problem unless you outsource to a handyman, which comes with a cost.

To start using your device, you need to turn it on by plugging it in and using the switch button to power it up.

After that, set the temperature and time and ensure that you obtain the right level of temperature for the oil without going over that.

You also need to maintain a temperature between 350 degrees F and 375 degrees F which is the suitable range for most of the cooking you will be doing.

If your device comes with a thermostat, you don't have to bother too much about the temperature as it will automatically determine the correct temperature.

However, if it doesn't come with one, you may have to get yourself a thermometer to select the right temperature for the oil.
