Step one

After having your ingredients ready, set the mini oven to the highest broiling function. Cover the tray in the oven with aluminium foil then brush it with olive oil or cooking spray to keep the salmon from sticking.

Step two

Mix the olive oil and red wine vinegar into a mixing bowl. Add aromatics to the mixture to taste like the crashed garlic as well as any other flavoring ingredients like soy sauce or hot sauce. Pour the mixture over the salmon and wait for it to marinate. You can wait for 30 minutes as it marinates. Then you can put the salmon in a sealable bag or a tin and put it in a refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.  While doing this on the salmon, you can preheat the oven’s broiler to about 450 degrees Fahrenheit or higher depending on how your oven works.

For breaded salmon, you can first coat the salmon fillet in flour, then in egg white and lastly into the breadcrumbs. Make sure the whole fillet is fully dredged by turning it both sides.

Step three

After the 30 minutes in the refrigerator, remove the marinated salmon and place it in the mini oven on the foil covered tray then broil it for about 12 minutes without opening the oven door. When it turns color to brown before the set time like two or three minutes earlier, only then can you check if it has cooked through using a fork. When it easily flakes, it has cooked through. Broiled salmon develops a brown rust while cooking. This is because of the marinate used. One side is enough when you grill the salmon. Do not grill both sides. If you want both sides to get the same color then you can grill the other side, though it is not advisable given the time it takes to broil the first side.

For the breaded salmon, it is first baked. The time required for it to bake is 20 to 30 minutes. After that the fish can easily separate into flakes upon touching it with a fork. Then put it back in the oven after you have set it to broil setting. After this it only takes less than five minutes to be ready.

Step four

Remove the salmon fillets from the mini oven. Cut a lemon into small slices and garnish it as you desire then serve.
