About Product Spy

What Is Product Spy:

Product Spy is a home and garden site, dedicated to helping you turn your house into a home.

Initially the site started late 2016 after realising that there was a complete lack of in-depth information about products for the home and garden industry online (crazy I know, to say the internet has been around for so long!). It was just full of what seemed to be really short articles that didn’t make much sense or relate to what you searched.

Several times my family members would come to me for advice about how to do something in the house, so I would go away and do the research only to realise that it would take what seemed like years before I could give them an answer.

I suddenly realised why my family kept coming to me, it was because of my attention to detail and that I don’t just pick up the first product or how to guide in sight thinking “this will do”. I would take my time by putting the hours in, researching not only about the products used, but also what problems it solved by reading as many reviews as I could find online.

After a few times of doing this for my family, I decided to start Product Spy. To share my findings with everyone online and save people’s precious time. When you work 40+ hours per week and have other commitments, it becomes extremely hard to find the time required to do all the necessary research in finding the best step by step guide or product for your situation.

From the humble begging’s a few ago, after posting my first few guides it appears that Product Spy was a hit, with not only my family but everyone else online. I soon started getting a lot of people thanking me for my research, and the site started to grow very quickly.

Fast forward to today and the site has grown from a few buyers guides within the home and garden niche, to so many different types of guides and how to style articles. My aim is to be your number 1 stop, whether you want to learn how to do a bit of home DIY, to finding the right cooker for your next kitchen.

If Product Spy doesn’t have what you need, send us a message and we will create the guide specifically for you!

Our Publishing Principles:

There seems to be a lot of false information scattered around the internet. Usually created by people who have either no interest, or no experience in the subject they are writing about. This really annoys me, and as mentioned above in the “what is Product Spy” section, it was one of the reasons I created Product Spy.

Here we do things differently, or should I say properly. I only write about topics I either have hands on experience in or have a huge interest in and have previously done lots of research on so I can provide you with the best knowledge possible.

Along with having hands on experience in the article I am writing (9 out of 10 times), I put in extra hours of countless research to add in other tips and tricks to ensure you are getting every bit of information you need.

There are product reviews on the website. Please note that these reviews are independent and based on research and product testing. If you visit links within the content, I may receive some commissions from your purchases. However, I never receive compensation for the content of the recommendations.

Our Team:

The team is just myself at the moment. And although it may be small compared to some other websites, I have hands on experience which makes Product Spy stand out from the crowd!
